Things to Eat

In the spirit of blogging, I thought I would share some favorite recipes.  Please don’t judge my messy kitchen counter 🙂

What You Need

1 cup water

2 3/4 cups flour

2 teaspoons yeast (I recommend Fleishmann’s Rapid Rise Highly Active Yeast)

Olive oil

Salt

In a mixing bowl, stir two teaspoons of yeast in 1 cup of warm water and stir in 1 cup of flour.  Cover with a cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes in a dry place (I use the microwave).  The mixture will bubble and look like the above picture.

Once the mixture has rested, stir in 1 and 3/4 cups of flour, 1 1/4 teaspoons of salt and 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

It will look like this.  Don’t knead it a lot.  It’ll be too dense.

Spray a pan or baking stone with some olive oil Pam and set dough on there (don’t flatten it yet)

Let rise in the oven for 1 1/2 hours.

After it rises for 1 1/2 hours, flatten dough, pierce with a fork and spread olive oil over it.  Sprinkle liberally with salt.

Cut and serve with soup or fondue or just eat it up by itself 🙂
